She received her first fountain pen from her parents when she was little, simply because she was curious about how they were different from “normal” pens. Little Ms. S found that she enjoyed how it wrote. The joy of fountain pens went dormant only to be reawakened years later in her 20s. Along with the re-ignited love came the newly discovered disdain for weak-sauce paper that cannot handle the majesty of a smooth, juicy nib. Oh, and her wallet cried as she began collecting fountain pens.
Nowadays, she practices custom nib grinds and struggles to find budget-friendly pens and papers in Thailand, the land nearly barren of sweet, gliding nibs. Her musings are recorded here.
